Member of the Month: Sandesh Gulchand | March 2009
I met Sandesh Gulchand in Toronto July of 2008 while I was shooting a wedding. We met through a friend of a friend and you know how that goes. Sandesh was very approachable and his sense of humor was something that I haven’t forgotten even to this day. He is relatively new to the photography world but his hard work, perseverence and constant inLIGHTin activity has helped him grow so much in such a short amount of time. So with that, I present Sandesh Gulchand as March’s Member of the Month!

What’s one word that describes yourself? Sandesh Gulchand: Limitless…. yes I’m also a bit arrogant… =) What’s your businesses primary area of photography? When did your photographic journey start? |

What first sparked your interest in photography? SG: I think I answered this above, but it was the realization that photography was an art form and each picture is a process of creation that has the potential to carry over all the emotions of the moment to the person ultimately viewing it. What made you decide to pursue a career in photography? How would you best describe yourself and your photographic style? What do you feel separates yourself from other photographers in your same profession? What other photographer or photographers have been a big inspiration to you? What else motivates and inspires you? What does a typical day of yours involve? Q: Do you have anyone else working for you? Do you outsource your work? If so then what do you primarily outsource? (i.e. printing, albums, books, graphic design, etc.) What is your absolute favorite photo that you have ever taken and why? ![]() SG: My favorite picture changes like every two days, but right now, my favorite is a picture I shot in Toronto, during a fireworks show that the city puts on every year. Honestly, I don’t know why its my favorite, the only explanation I can offer is that it makes me feel like I’m still there whenever I look at it and also it’s just *$$^$) cool. What advice can you offer other pros out there to take their business to the next level? What camera equipment are you currently shooting with? What’s your lens of choice? Where can we see some more of your work? |

Thank you Sandesh for taking the time out for the interview and also for also being a great friend!
