| There are a lot of spammers trying to get into this forum. If you are a spammer reading this then don't waste your time here.
For all those who are interested in learning more about photography then please do the following when registering:
1.) Register with a legit user name. Specifically, your first and last name or business name. This separates you from the spammers.
2.) Register with a legit email with a pretty well known domain. aol.com, yahoo.com, etc...
3.) It is not mandatory but always nice to receive an email stating that you registered as well. Please send this email me at mike@inlightinworkshop.com
Here's a quick list of Dos and Don'ts for all inLIGHTin members.
Good Manners and Respect
DON'T be snotty to another poster, or make the argument personal.
DO know the difference between differences of opinion and personal attacks
DON'T present your opinions as facts
DON'T post the same opinion over and over in the hopes of wearing other people down or "winning" a discussion; just move on.
Starting New Threads Dos and Don'ts
DO search for existing topics before starting new threads
DON'T start a new thread unless you have something of substance to say yourself.
DON'T request an info-dump: "Tell me about XYZ website templates?" Ask specific questions and explain why you want the information.
Posting Messages Dos and Don'ts
DON'T post "Me Too!" messages; add something of substance to the conversation
DON'T sign your posts with blogs, links, etc. Put them in your profile.
DO understand that when you post a picture or a website, it will be critiqued.
DO offer members fair, honest, constructive critiques, without beilittling.
DON'T post articles or pictures to which you don't own copyright. Instead, link to them.
DON'T post the same thing in multiple areas; pick a spot and go with it.
Moderation Dos and Don'ts
DO help us out and report violations of our rules with the "Notify Moderator Button" at the bottom left of every post.
DO understand being moderated isn't a crime, and you're not being told you're a bad person. We're just facilitating discussion for busy photographers.
DON'T talk about the forum on the forums. Use the Suggestion & Feedback forum.
Pimping Do's and Don'ts
DON'T start a thread to pimp anyone products. "I just love XYZ! They're great!
DO post a review of a product, service, or seminar in the Comments about Vendors Forum
DON'T post "who's going to X seminar" til one week before the seminar. If you need to know who's going before that, ask the person conducting the seminar.
DO post a link to your business and basic factual information, if someone asks about your product, service, or seminar |
